The Lettuce Learn team is made up of students, teachers, administrators, and gardeners of all sorts.

SCHOOL GARDEN LEADS

​Shannon Carroll brings rich experience as a retired teacher/technology specialist, gardener and co-owner of SunCatcher Passive Solar Greenhouses. She helped establish the school garden at Mabel School and helps out in the gardens at Parkway School.

Glory Rognstad is a 1-2 EC Teacher and the garden lead at Hardin Park.

Katelynn Erm is an ASU student studying Nutrition and Sustainable Development. Seeing the other side of food has been an eye opening journey and she is excited to continue to learn and teach others serving as the garden lead at the Child Development Center.

Dana Holden has over 20 years of gardening experience. She is the After school Program Coordinator and garden lead at Valle Crucis Elementary. Dana is interested in propagating native plants and apple grafting.

Olivia Moran is an ASU student and serves as the garden lead at Two Rivers Community School.

Danielle Tipton has been volunteering at Parkway School since 2015. It started out as a simple Cub Scout Project with her two sons and husband, to her getting her Master Gardener certification and to garden lead at Parkway School for the last 3 years. She has loved seeing little faces watching plants grow and learning what they need to thrive.

Debbie Bauer is the Garden Lead at Bethel Elementary. She has served as the garden lead at Appalachian State's Sustainable Development garden and on Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture's Board of Directors.

Julia Showalter is a professor at Appalachian state and serves as the garden lead at Blowing Rock Elementary, where her two sons go to school.
