This spring Two Rivers students worked to create a flourishing home to welcome more pollinator species into our garden. Thanks to Captain Planet we were able to add lots of new pollinators plants to our garden and learn about the important role pollinators play in our ecosystem.

Third grade students got the ball rolling by researching important information about the new plants being added to our garden. Each third grader spent time with one plant where they observed the plant and used plant guides to find and share information about each plant and its specific need for sun, shade, space, etc.

Sixth graders contributed tremendously by preparing the soil in our garden beds and spreading compost and mulch.

" Can we be goats and eat the pea shoots?" " YES" One day several sixth graders mowed down our austrian winter peas to make room for our seedlings!
