Lettuce Learn Reaches its Barnraiser Goal!

3/26/2015

Thanks to the generosity of our community far and wide, Lettuce Learn has reached its Barnraiser goal  ahead of schedule!  We are now well on our way to reaching our stretch goal.  Any amount pledged between now and April 3rd will help us ensure this project's success into 2016 and allow us to expand the reach to more schools.

How will the funds be used?
  • We currently train and provide garden coordinators at four local schools.   Funding will provide each garden coordinator with a small stipend and the ability to purchase materials for their school garden program. (We are hoping to expand the program next year to provide garden coordinators to more schools in 2016!)
  • We have partnered with the Goodnight Family Sustainable Development Department to offer a Garden-Based Teacher-Training July 20-24 at Appalachian State University.  Funds will help provide scholarships for local teachers and child care professionals to attend the training.

We send our sincerest thanks to everyone who has contributed to the project! We send you all our Lettuce Learn love!
